SUMMER BACKYARD BARBEQUE MENU

(The following are some suggestions of menus for a casual backyard wedding, corporate event, or family gathering. These are just a small sample of some ideas available, and substitutions are easily made. Feel free to mix and match from any menu to create your own special occasion. A consultation can be made with Chef Les to customize a menu for your celebration or gathering to suit any budget.)

Menu # 1: ($40-50 per person)
Traditional Coleslaw
Best-ever homemade baked beans
Creamy potato salad
Carolina style slow roasted pulled pork on a bun ($40/person)

Pecan smoked Texas style beef brisket on a bun ($50/person)
Fresh baked squares, gourmet cookies and homemade butter tarts

Menu # 2 ($45 per person)
Arugula and kale salad with julienne of dried mango and drizzled with apple cider mustard vinaigrette
Coconut rice and beans
Mixed grilled vegetables
Jerk chicken
Fresh baked breads and rolls offered with Caribbean butter and avocado spread
Seasonal fresh fruit crisp with Kawartha Dairy vanilla ice cream

Menu # 3 ($50 per person)
Mixed Heritage greens, cucumber, tomatoes and red onion offered with balsamic vinaigrette
Pasta Carbonara Salad (sundried tomatoes, fresh basil, pancetta, parmigiana and aioli dressing)
Herbed buttermilk breast of chicken and Baby back ribs
Fresh baked breads and rolls
Fresh baked fruit pies offered with Kawartha Dairy vanilla ice cream

Menu # 4 ($55 per person)
Classic Caesar salad with homemade croutons, fresh lemon and pancetta
Roasted new potatoes
Grilled Kebab Trio
(sirloin tip, breast of chicken and assorted vegetable)
Fresh baked breads and rolls
Extra moist carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

Menu # 5 ($60 per person)

Crunchy Asian salad with mixed greens, orange wedges, red peppers, cherry tomatoes and honey sesame vinaigrette
Steamed asparagus or green bean bundles
Grilled Sweet Potato wedges
Korean BBQ glazed short ribs
Fresh baked breads and rolls
Decadent chocolate cake with fresh raspberries and rasberry coulis  (Gluten free option available)


Menu # 6 ($60 per person)

Baby spinach, fresh strawberries and toasted almonds with
a poppyseed vinaigrette
Baked potatoes
Seasonal mixed grilled vegetables
Mixed grill of breast of chicken, baby back ribs,
and New York striploin
An assortment of fresh baked breads and rolls
Classic Tiramisu

Menu # 7 ($70 per person)

Mixed Heritage greens, diced Granny Smith apples, candied pecans and dried cherries offered with maple apple cider vinaigrette served with a wedge of Gorgonzola
Honey glazed roasted carrots
Potato Galette (roasted layers of thinly sliced and seasoned potato)
Grilled whole tenderloin of beef with a brandied wild mushroom reduction
An assortment of fresh baked breads and rolls
Chocolate Pavlova with fresh strawberries
